Na-After Chemo III...

Hier ben ik weer... met mijn verhaal dat verder evolueert... Ik heb ondertussen mijn derde chemokuur van 4 dagen gehad in het ziekenhuis - met goeie medicatie die mijn neveneffecten redelijk goed in bedwang heeft gehouden.
Bij opname waren mijn witte bloedcellen aan de lage kant om de chemo op te starten (minder weerstand tegen ziektes/infecties) - maar ze hebben dan toch besloten door te gaan om het goede effect van de chemo niet te verliezen - nu is het dus goed oppassen om geen infecties op te doen. Dit zou namelijk het proces kunnen vertragen of verhinderen.
Het kliertje zelf aan het borstbeen was gereduceerd na de eerste 2 chemos van ongeveer 3.5 cm naar 2.2 cm wat een positieve evolutie is waarop ik wil focusen! Ik voel me in elk geval heel erg gesteund door mijn hele omgeving - BEDANKT allemaal!
Ondanks het goede nieuws dat de chemo aanslaat raden de dokters ons aan realistisch te blijven over dit soort kanker. Ik heb de afgelopen maanden al veel geluk gehad met de vorige risico's zoals de hersentoestand en operatie in jan/feb (alles prima doorgekomen!), het aanslaan van de chemo (maar 25% kans waar ik toch in gevallen ben!), ... De statistieken blijven moeilijk - maar dit wil niet zeggen dat ik absoluut ga voor het beste wat eruit te halen is!
Het hier en nu is wat telt...

Here I am again... with my story... I have had my chemo of 4 days in the hospital again, with good medication and rather little side effects.
At the start, it appeared that my white blood cells were rather low to start up the chemo (which causes less resistance to illness and infections) but in the end they decided to start up anyway not to loose the momentum and effectiveness of the cure. I now need to be extra careful not to get infections as this could slow down the process.
The gland itself has reduced after 2 first chemos from about 3.5 cm to 2.2 cm - a very positive evolution which has all my attention! I feel in any case supported enormously by my whole environment THANKS to all!
Despite the good news that the chemo is working, the doctors advice us to stay realistic about this type of cancer. I had so many luck over the last months with the risks I had to stand, such as the brain status, the surgery, the success of the chemo so far (statistically 25% chance that it worked - which I reached!), ... The statistics stay difficult - but that does not mean that I am absolutely aiming for the best possible! Here and now is what counts...
